Re: Hay cubes vs. pellets
In my experience, the pellets are far riskier than the hay cubes. Have had
SEVERAL adult horses choke on them over the years, including one so severely
that it took two days at the clinic to resolve the choke, multiple flushes,
softeners to break up the impaction that ran the full length of the esophagus,
muscle relaxants, anti-inflamatories, IV fluids to stay hydrated, etc. Nope,
nope, nope, not worth it!!
