Newbies

There will always be some sort of controversy in whatever you do, whether in horses or any other endeavor.  Endurance is a sport that one can do a own INDIVIDUAL pace.  If you have the money and resources you can get 'professional'.  If you just do a little, it is still an accomplishment.  Whenever, one is starting out in a physical endeavor, you MUST find your limitation.  That can't be done without actually doing it.  The 25 milers give one a taste of the sport.  Then, you can stay there or go to the longer distances, but it must be done slowly for both horse and rider.   When you do your first 50, you will hurt in muscles you never thought you used while riding a horse.  It just takes time and conditioning and if you go too fast, you can have more of a setback than if you paced a bit on slow side.   I still think you get more 'bang for your buck' doing endurance than most other horse activities.
