Re: t-shirts/New Topic
Awards???
My first endurance ride (LD) on my mare was in March, 1997, Land of the
NeverSweats. Boy did that one spoil me!!
I came in last with a friend of mine (we finished the first 21 miles in 3+
hours, then upon leaving for the last 4 mile loop, we realized that dinner
wasn't until 6 p.m., so what was the hurry?) and got the "tail-end" award--a
great first aid kit. They also had a bunch of scoops that their club
members had made and we all got to take one. And, for completing, we got
hand-made rope halters in the color of our choice.
And, finally, after handing out the awards to the 50 milers, they did a
raffle for the items that were left. My name was called and I got an
awesome necklace--its a welded aluminum horse (about 3" by 2"). It was
great!!
Nothing has ever lived up to that since and I can't wait to do the 55 mile
up there on 3/21 this year!!
