Carry it unloaded....like I said, just the sight of it will deter many
             from making you an easy target.

Sorry...an unloaded gun will not help.  NEVER attempt to use or point a gun at anyone unless you fully intend to use it...this is POLICE TRAINING!!!!  Hence, an unloaded gun used as a threat or deterrant may be pushinbg the issue and when needed, there is no time to load it.
