Horses Balking at Hills

Lauren, I have seen this in young/green horses, they usually outgrow it
with experience. In a seasoned, conditioned, horse, there may well have
been a problem. Horses don't always "look" tired or obviously in pain. One
time Racer slipped in the mud & took a couple off steps. I rode cautiosly
on & he seemed okay. At the vet check the vet noted a tight muscle. We went
to the trailer & he peed dark. Bloodwork showed he had tied up, but he
hadn't acted like it at all. I would have been curious to see bloodwork on
the TB you mentioned. Nancy Mitts.
