I truely hope I'm never out on the trail and should be so unfortunate as
to have to dispatch my horse with a hatchet or a folding saw. Was on a
pack trip one year when one of the pack animals went off the side of a
cliff and had to be shot.....we were 20 miles from the trailhead, and no
way to get the animal back up to the trail regardless...he was too
severely injured to move.

I have a bumpersticker that says "An Armed Society is a Polite Society"
