Here in Nevada at 5,000 feet, the wild ones drop foals all year long. They
havn't read all the books. Seriously seems to depend more on what their
feed situation etc. has been than anything. Did notice during the drought
a few years back (that went on for about 7 years), herds were way down in
their foaling. Boy were the mares active when the rain and snow came!!
