I have two McClellans that were rebuilt
by Ted Jones, in Live Oak Florida.
He does beautiful work and will do
special things such as cover hi tech
stirrups with hoods, make special thin
girth rings, etc, more suited to
Endurance than the style the Renactors
desire; I bought mine without leather
girth straps and horsehair girth, since
prefer hi tech materials;
He has a new web page but I do not yet
have the location so call him:
Ted Jones, at Rem's Farm Saddlery
(904) 362 2838 EST zone Live Oak
FL
I would like to add that all
McClellans are not the same
tree. My hundred mile horse
had some problems with his fit
and I paid a lot of money
for another saddle; It galled
me badly, and ribbed his elbows;
Ted brought another McClellan
over that was a ll l/2 instead of
my l2; We discovered it was
an inch shorter and solved the
bridging problem nicely.
The horse is again moving
freely with his shoulders.
good luck,
