I've found that both my mares and my stallion seem to take better care of
themselves (and me) on the trail than any of the geldings that I've ridden.
I enjoyed the geldings for their 'steady Eddy' behaviors, but I'll take an
un-neutered horse over a gelding anyday! :-)

P.S. The mare I have now will NOT show heat to any horse but my stallion,
and then, only at home! This makes taking her out for rides REAL pleasant!
