Re: Protective Boots
A new NATRC rule has gone into effect for 1999 and any type of shoeing is now
allowed (pads, easy boots, etc.).  Still no leg protection allowed, but that
is probably a matter of time.  So any of you endurance riders who have stayed
away from NATRC because of the shoeing rule -- give it a try!  It really is a
lot of fun and especially good for a young horse because you are doing 50
miles over two days (or 30 over two if you prefer).  Lots of vet checks --
great practice for endurance.  Good for the long, slow distance approach.
