Bob,
I know most horses slide, you can feel it in the saddle. And yes the
feral horses run on hard ground, but they don't have on steel shoes.
The steel shoes vibrate and they to some extent impact the ability of
the hoof to damp out the vibration.
I think the real benefit of easy boots - and maybe the "shock abosrbing
pads" is the damping of the vibration.
