drug testing and homeopathics

My mum did a course on homeopathy years ago (she cured a dog
with eczema - which she considered her greatest triumph, because
the dog wouldn't understand the idea of placebos) and as I
understood it from her, the reason homeopathics don't test, is
because there is no trace of the actual herb left in the pill.
It is diluted and diluted and diluted, until only the ions (??
or some such) of the original herb are left. Which is why you
mustn't touch them with your grubby, ion filled hands.
