Re: Endurance Prospect(s) - "Decisions Based Upon Goals?"
The majority of the horses looked more like the

Ruth,
I've got friends in Texas who've sent me ride films from there. From
what I've seen, there are some people who are very competetive, and whole
lot of people who just do an occassional distance ride (often 15 miles or
so) and mostly do something else with their horses. You gotta
admit...it's QH country. Don't be surprised if your little Arab is in
the minority. I think if you'll look at the winners in the longer
distances, you'll see more "desert type" horses.
I've ridden large and small and prefer small. Kaboot is barely 14.2.
The farther we go, the higher up we place. I read somewhere that the top
human marathoners average about 5'8" or something like that. I used to
barrel race too (mostly combined it with bowling and scored perfect
"strikes...3 barrels down!). This is a whole different ballgame. You
never made it very clear what you meant by "typey". If you meant
"dainty" you might have a problem. If you meant under 14.2 and short
coupled you just described Rio, and Drubin...among others.
Angie & Kaboot (I'm 5' tall and can get on BY MYSELF!"
