I certainly think it could be part of it.  I never had a saddle 
problem until I got my nice bay mare...

now I have a small white patch on the withers and am embarrassed
to take her to the checkin at rides.  Everyone can see how
poorly I treat my horse then...

Will a nice brown dye work?  Will any of you gals know and catch me at 
it?
