you dont need a fcc licence for the low power frs radio..only the 2 watt
and above.. 
it is a nice freq band  quite low noise and the radios use FM  vs the
junky CB stuff

a very nice tool for personal use  for anything you want..
 up on a mtn top they go about 2 to 3 miles.. 
and you can add a better antenna to increase the range..

you just go to radio shack and buy a pair.. or look in all the assorted
mail order catalogs like danmark for great discounts.. shop around  look
for great Christmas sales on these things..  i should by stock on the
compamies that make them
should be a hot item this year..
my son wants a set so he can keep one in the boat and still contact his
wife back at the dock/home.. and to use between boats  real nice.. along
with my gps.. clocked his boat at 95.. big 6 on nito.. boys and their
toys
