Public relations for endurance

Yesterday the owner/manager of the farm where my gelding is boarded gave me
a copy of the October issue of Equiery ("Maryland's source of equine
information since 1990").  I hadn't seen this free publication (available
at tack shops and grain stores) in a long time.

She gave it to me because of Bobbie Lieberman's column on endurance, which
focused this month on the Rockbridge Hunt 50 & 25.  What a kick to read
about endurance in a mainstream equine rag, and to recognize riders I know
from Ridecamp.  And what a great way to make the Maryland riding community
aware of endurance riding.

Bobbie had extended quotes from Bonnie Snodgrass, which I (a wannabie)
especially appreciated.

I certainly have more incentive now to get a copy of each month's issue.
And since five of the top ten in the 100 were Marylanders, and one from
Baltimore, I feel like I have a community even though we haven't met.
