Re: 2 way radios
no license required it is public free service use.. taken from ham radio
because they did not use it..
and they are only not allowed on fei rides.. i have seen them used in
normal back-yard endurance and ctr between rider to rider and crew..
did you look in the aerc rules?? before saying you can not use radio
contact??
i never saw it -- chapter verse please..
some rides may say you cant use them.. but most do not..never read it
any where except fei weg rules.
i think they are great.. you can get a vox-- voice triggered on headset
and fix it into the helmet.. the company who made the radio should sell
the vox headset..
check radio shack
would most likely mess up my hrm and gps and temp unit hahaha as well
as more pounds and wires it could get strange out there---
and light up if i went under a power line--
i did ride with 2mtr ham radio before and kept in touch with the ride
mgmt.. was kinda neat since they knew someone out on the trail had a
radio in case some one needed help.. and it did make the hrm go off when
i keyed the radio..
the new frs radios are neat.. i plan on getting a set just to have them.
just go for it inless someone makes a fuss dont ask dont tell-- is it
really going to make a difference gee whiz
