Bute trick
For bute to be eaten:
Buy black treacle and some sliced bread.
Put treacle on two slices, jam together and
offer the horse (on floor if timid). They cannot
resist. If the horse hates this treacle sandwich
it won't work.
Then add bute powder in the middle of the next
treacle sandwich. It has never failed me yet and
the plain dummy sandwich is not needed after you
have made sure they like them (i.e. don't waste a
sachet of bute on your first try). Horses beg me
for their bute.
Good luck!
