How right you are. There are times I swear this horse has more "gears" =
than an 18 wheeler, and other times the throttle is stuck wide open.=20
I have one training course that I watch the HRM and monitor the =
respiration and recoveries closely, it has been interesting to note that =
she tends to work at a fairly consistent heart rate on a given segment, =
even though there may be tremendous differences in speed and gait =
selection. There also appears to be a close correlation to temperature =
and humidity.=20
Our 40 degree weather appears to have gone south for the winter. After =
sacrificing myself in the interests of science ( i.e. read being =
incredibly stupid to ride in the low 30's yesterday ), further =
investigation is going to wait for the 40's to return. Today's research =
will focus on the application of moderate to liberals doses of hot =
toddy's to restore the body temperature of not too bright endurance =
riders. Purely in the interest of science, of course.
