Nothing like stirring the pot <g>...

There are probably other gaited breeds which would be capable of =
endurance, given the chance. Certainly some of the Paso's I've ridden =
with would be candidates. Probably not the Fino's, as they tend more to =
the showy, go nowhere type of gait.=20

I am just slightly biased <g>, towards the Fox Trotter. I love her =
disposition, the "Trail Monsters" don't phase her a bit. Surefooted, =
handles the hills well, good sense of self preservation, willing to =
please, and definitely ready to go. Her smooth gaits are an added bonus. =
How she will do in the long run, I have no idea. There don't seem to be =
very many out there, so only time will tell.=20

Truman's experience with his TWH, provides a lot more insight into the =
long term capability of the Walkers. I believe though that a properly =
conditioned and cared for horse of either breed can have a successful =
endurance career.=20

The important issue, irregardless of breed, is the capability and =
personality of the individual horse. I've ridden some Fox Trotters that =
I wouldn't even consider as endurance prospects, we just didn't mesh. =
>From my own experience, it takes more time to get a gaited horse into =
condition, so find one you can work with. Try a couple of each, and =
decide for yourself.
