Kristen, are you thinking that the gaiters (1/2 chaps) caused the
soreness maybe? I doubt it, but have you tried riding in shipping
boots? I have friends who ride in them and swear by the comfort. My
husband has stopped riding in has pretty suede gaiters and started
riding in shipping boots because his knees always get RAW on long rides
(he's mister hot shoe). With the shipping boots, nothing... You know
what I mean, those padded things with the velcro that go around the
horses cannons when you trailer them??? They look like something from
the moon but I guess they're really comfortable and they wouldn't
irritate the horses sides either, I don't think. Worth a try, I guess.
Just a suggestion.
