<< have a very short-backed Arab that I ride with an Aussie saddle (stock
type, and I've no idea what size or brand it is, bought it used with no
visible labels), which I love and which seems to fit Lakota just fine. I
find that the Aussie saddles are hard to get out of, even when you want to
(dismounting is a real treat!) -- I don't know of any saddle that will
stop you mid-way through a head-long tumble and throw you back into your
seat better than an Aussie. (that's the voice of experience speaking :)

They say "You'd have to be a fool to come out of it!" The saddle has added at
least 10 years to my life! (And I've been a fool once or twice) but it slowed
me down so I could pick my spot. I've had no trouble coming out of it if I
wanted to. They're engineered, and definitely not like the old bear-traps of
yesteryear. Judy
