The Lexington airport is not that small. The "Sheik " lands his 747 at
Bluegrass Field for the Keeneland sales. I've never had any trouble
flying in or out of Lexington. However, if I were trying to save a buck
and were renting a car anyway, I'd check flights into Louisville and
Cincinnati. The CIncinnati airport ( actually in Ky.) is larger than
Louisville's and is about 25 miles further from Lex.
