The Arab-Curly cross has been developed by Bazy Tankersley owner of Al-
Marah Arabians in Tucson. She selected 5 Curly mares and 1 Curly
stallion to breed to 5 Al-Marah mares and select Al-Marah stallions. I
believe this program has been going on now for about 7 years and now the
Arab-Curly's are being crosses with each other. Bazy is a expert in
breeding and genetics so you can be sure this is a well thought out and
developed program to achieive the desired results...endurance horses. I
have seen the Al-Marah Curly cross up close and personal. These horses
have excellent bone and substance. They are very hearty with a pleasant
and willing disposition consistent with Al-Marah bred horses. These horses
are probably easily capable of carrying a heavyweight rider in competition.
Carrie Miracle, an experienced endurance rider started one of the Al-Marah
bred 1/2 Curly's and and found the horse very willing and easy to work with
and capable of doing very well in multi-day rides.

Subject: Bashkir Curlys-Endurance Potential?
Has anyone seen any Curlys or Arab-Curly crosses compete either in
Competitive or Endurance? What about their general temperament, size, and
metabolics? Any information would be helpful.
