Hi all, from a long time Lurker. The biggest difference I've EVER seen in a horses performance, resulted not from diet changes, but from worming practices (i.e. from rotational paste to daily). The subtle changes that give an edge to a competition horse that come from the diet, can only be gleaned if the horse is parasite-free. On average, a horse is only parasite free for about 2-3 weeks after paste worming and a zero fecal count does not mean the horse is worm free. I figure I spent thousands on wormer & LOTS of the best feed available for naught... untill I discovered (through the RideCamp List) daily wormer. This is not a plug for Pfizer, but myself & 2 riding buddies have 500, 700 & 1600 miles respectively on our individual trail horses this year. Maybe the vets & specialists on this list can comment on how much/many nutrients are robbed by parasites if the horse is *only* sub-clinical.
