I would also like some input on how much to allow a hot horse to drink.
When Mystery got to one of the water spots at GC, he was very hot and
drank, and drank. I hate to stop any horse from drinking, but I did in
order to walk him a little and put some water over him to cool him off.
Usually, he won't drink until he cools a little, but he was really
thirsty this time. I think the electrolytes and the dry air helped to
contribute to this. So, he drank some more after I put water over him
and sponged him off.
Can these horses get belly aches from drinking too fast and too soon
when they are hot?
I know I can, but I'm not a horse (most of the time....)
