Hi there,

I did the Limestone 2 years ago, well lets say i attempted it. I came into
the lunch stop at 4:30pm had 18 miles to go in 1.5 hours. They encouraged me
to go on, but my mare was obviously tired and I doubted I could make it in
the short amount of time I had left. So I pulled myself.

I am a middle of the pack kind of rider, not real wimpy but will not trot
down steep shaley hills or up avalanche slides and logging washes. So it was
probably my own fault that I did not make it, I ran down the hills and
tailed up the long hauls (there were many).

I think about 10 people were OT at the finish.

If I was managing that ride I would cut out some of the vertical climbs
(there was a gravel road that ran in switch backs up one of the mountains we
climbed straight up). People told me that the OLD limestone ride had stayed
on the gravel roadds and that people had complained about all the road so
they had gone to the trails instead. Well personally in this terrain I would
opt for the road.

Anyway, just my .02.

I like the challlenging rides and I don't mind finishing in 10+ hours (trust
me I do it). But rides should be doable even for the slower middle to back
of the packers.
