I ride in the Ocala Forest in Fl. where it is about as humid as it gets.
Right now even though it is only days from Oct., it is temp in the low 90's
with about 100% humidity. The horses feel great when we take them to the
mountains! But for riding humidity I slow it down, lots of electrolytes, lots
and lots of water on the body (mine too) and offer a drink at all
possibilities even the uglliest mud puddles. Watch the breathing. Panting is
ok but gasping is not. Carry a thermometer. Stand in shade and turn the
horses body so the wind hits as much of it as possible (hopefully there is
some). And take care of yourself.
