This is a very difficult message to send, but I just got off the phone with
Lucie Hess who advised me that her husband, Rick Summers, was killed in an
auto accident about 8 this morning. She was here in KC at a meeting and
was called back for what she described as the longest 2 hour drive of her
life. Arrangements are not complete at this point, and she has asked
me to serve as her NATRC family contact for now, and even though you feel
the need to call, she has asked that you
please do not. She will advise me as to the arrangements and I will post
accordingly. Death was instantaneous, and she, as well as the rest of us,
share that joy. He was on his way to work and in his car, and not his
motorcycle. She
is not likely to be checking her E-mail messages very soon, and since her
service is through her job, it might be preferable not to fill the mail
