The Bully Wully ride manager, Dory Jackson, is off to PanAm. She had
hoped to send something out before she left but did not have enough time
between the ride and leaving for Bend, OR. I will try to fill you in on
some of the results. We weren't sure that we could even have the ride
this year because of fire danger. (Can you believe that!!) Anyway, it
did rain and the forest managers opened the woods to us 4 days before
the ride. Fortunately, the rain stopped on Friday and the riders all
had a good sense of humor. Anyway, we had 102 total riders. I won't
list all the riders but if anyone wants more information just contact me
privately. On Saturday we had 10, 25, 50, 75 and 100 miles. Carol
Mittie placed 1st for the 10 miles. Staci Lewis placed 1st on the 25
with Mike Sofen in 10th taking BC. R.G. Root took 1st in the 50 and
Linda Fleming was BC. She placed 3rd. Richard Mittie was 1st and BC on
the 75 as was Kim Hofmarks in the 100.
On Sunday we had 10, 25 and 50. Albert Ruijters was 1st in the 10
miles. Victor Anderson was 1st in the 25. (This was his first ride and
his BC scores were 3rd. Great job. Next time bring that horse in 1st
BC!) Butch Hoge was BC on the 25 and placed 4th. (This was Butch's 2nd
BC at the Bully Wully. I think he is paying off the Vet's) The 50 mile
ride was taken by Juanita Gibney for top placing and BC.
As alternate ride manager I want to extend both Dory's and my thank yous
to the riders, pit crews and our great volunteers. We can't do it
without you. This was the second year for Dory and me, I think we are
getting it down. Again thank you for your understanding.
Be sure to check out the BC coolers provided by Joyce Kellenberger, and
a big thank you to Safe-T-Pen and Covlet Machine & Design for the 2
horse metal fencing that we raffled off.
