It seems when we ride in groups, one group waits for the other group to
quit drinking and then they come up. If you are between groups, the best
solution I have heard is to ask "is it OK if I go on?" and I think that is
perfectly fine. I will wait if the horse is by itself, but if it has
buddies with it, I see NO PROBLEM with you going on. In fact, if someone
waits for me, I tell them to go on if they want to, because my horse will
slam on the brakes and drink at all costs, even to the point of losing a
race!
What concerns me more here in the hot, humid CT region, is people who run
BY water and don't stop!
