Well I changed Blue's diet around some and saw imediate improvement. First I
separated him from the others at feed time. Then, I decreased the high
protein/sweet feed to about 1/4 lbs per feeding to make the psyllium stick
when he gets it. I increased his alfalfa/bermuda pellets, increased his
bermuda hay, went back to rice bran, and started him on cob without mollases
but only 1/2 lb each feeding. I also started feeding him more hay adding a
lunch with more bermuda hay and the alfalfa/bermuda pellets too. So
basically I decreased his protein and increased his carbs and fat and no big
change in what I feed, but ration portions are different. Second day I
rode, the first we ever went out alone which may of woke him up too. Did
our loop backwards to decrease the boredom and added speed but not distance.
BOY DID I HAVE A TON OF HORSE:}!!! He handled the speed increase well and
we did the 6 mile loop with only two of our three mountains in a little less
then an hour. His p&r's were still really good too! I think it is the
higher carb load and the rice bran, he always does good on rice bran:}
So thanks all for the info!!! It really helped!
