The Sports Medicine boots, in my opinion, cover too much leg and would thus
increase the retained heat. In the opinion of my vet, the extra support
provided by the SMB would reduce the amount of tendon/ligament hardening
that the horse would generate on his own, another strike.

I use some simple but very effective ankle covers, with a hard plastic sort
of cup to protect the inner ankle. They're maybe 4" tall, neoprene,
single 2" wide velcro closure, and have been working well for me. I don't
have a brand name, I got them at our local English tack shop.

Hi Ridecampers,

I am looking for some protective boots for my horse who interferes in
the rear. What is there out there that allows some air circulation?
How 'bout the sports medicine boots for the rear. <<
