Intuition told me my Swedish Warmblood gelding was sore in the near hind
leg. I even called the dressage trainer who put some time on him and asked
her if she had felt anything. Her answer was no. This was at 4 years of age.
Last year at the age of 9 he was diagnosed with bone spavin in the near
hind leg. We did not xray the off hock, but presumed it was close behind
the near one for calcium development.
Do listen to your inner feelings about unsoundness. And not all vets have
the experience with the unsoundness's. I have seen alot of obvious
missdiagnoses. I am not writing this to slam vets so please don't take it
that way. There are vets practicing that do not speciallize in lameness
and they can not be expected to know everything. Besides horses can't talk
and tell us where they hurt. It does help to get a vet who speciallizes in
lameness's. (My favorite just moved to Az :-((( )
Hope your Sunday is great,
