> > Hi all, I'm just new to the list (been lurking 2 days).I'm also
relativly new to endurance riding . I have done a 25,40 & 48km rides.My
horse is a 17 yr old pure arab stallion. His heart rate at the start is
usually 30-36 and has never been higher than 47 when we vet back in. He is
83% Crabbet lines. > I have two questions firstly what is the signifigance of heart
scores?? >and is it worth while haveing this done? > Secondly I was really interested in what was said about not feeding
much lucerne because of the protein. Do you feed higher carbohydrates etc??
I always worked my feed out 2/3 carbohydrate 1/6 protein 1/6 fat. I may have
been on the wrong track for the last year. Any great feed ideas welcome. I
also cannot get rice bran here in nz but was wondering if copra would be a
simmilar thing?? Does it rate as a reasonable feed suppliment, or not?? > > > Happy horsin > Lisa and Spark >
