You were really flying on that last 5 miles, don't know if you noticed
passing me!
After your group of 4, another rider passed, and I gave Ember the signal
we use in training: "GET 'em", and we were off like a shot. I could
feel my helmet being blown back against its harness. We barely stopped
in time for that creek with the high bank, too. Dove through the cows,
no trouble finding the ribbons.
She was not rating, so I insisted that she walk the last part of the
road, she replied with a collected trot--it was a training ride for us
LDrs of course, and it was her first with a snaffle rather than a vosal
or hack. Another rider passed us at the finish, I was surprised to find
no other 30 milers in front of us. The vet check's P&R was confusing,
and it was a short hold.
A ride time of 3:10 was good for us, now on to 50s.
Weaver looked like he hadn't even been out, during the BC judging.
I was really glad to have hauled up there, and to meet people from other
regions. It was a beautiful site for a ride, great vets and ribbons were
good on our loop.
