When we bought our grey gelding, he had been ridden with a poorly
fitting saddle. How did we know? If you look the other way and run
your fingers over the hair on either side of the whethers (or wherever
you suspect problems) you can feel the difference in the hair. It was
impossible to see, but easy to "feel" where the calloused spots were.
Try it.
