Our family uses Camelbacks routinely. They are a great way to carry 70
ounces of fluids. We also send spare bladders filled with our pre-mixed
human electrolytes to vet checks.

We have only had two problems. The shoulder straps on some models are
too narrow. So we made pads with velcro attachments and they work
fine. The other problem has been with the bite valves. They slip on to
the end of the drinking tube and can fall off. Keep spare valves with
you.

One last benefit of camelbacks is spinal protection. Last year at Tevis
Ramey's horse fell in rocks going into Francisco's. Ramey did a rolling
fall recovery and the Camelback protected his spine.

We still carry water bottles to spray on our horses neck between water
stops.
