>>BIG difference in MY book!!!<<
I believe that you have lost sight of one of the intents of the AERC. To
quote from the By-Laws Article VI "To encourage and sponsor the collection
and publication of scientific data from detailed and methodical examination
and tests of horses for the beneficial use by veterinarian and medical
professions".
Remember there is no stigma to being eliminated from an endurance ride and
if you have the concept that being pulled is denigrating to you then that is
your "personal problem".
We need all the definitive data we can obtain and in my book the reasons for
elimination are not definitive enough! I would like to see the cause defined
, in the case of lameness, to the leg and if possible the region of the leg
and causative factor. In the case of metabolic I would like to have defined
a degree of intensity if possible. But for now we will be satisfied with
what we do get.
Remember the sport is for the horse not the rider. Big egos must be
suppressed and the credit given to the horse.
