For the second year in a row the organiserswere faced with a very wet
weekend and to give them credit they coped without panic. The start time
was put back to reduce night riding to the minimum and believe it or not
the track where it was considered too dangeous for the conditions was
bipassed and this meant remarking the track in the dark on Saturday night;
Achieved with difficulty but efficiency.
Down to the nitty gritty: 55 horses started and 36 managed to better the
conditions to complete on what was mostly very slipperyand boggy going
throug state forestry.

Note: The combined age of the joint winners M/W is 136.
Congratulation to Rio and Becky Hart in achieving a milestone of 10,000
miles from all of us in Australia including the guy who had the unfortunate
task of pulling Rio in Holland. I wager that very few horses will ever be
able to emulate this feat.
