YES< YES! Lots of fluid first! We have used a little trick that has worked so
far - put a pinch of table salt - or some kind of salt on the horse's tongue-
not much - just enough that he might want to wash it out of his mouth. They
don't seem to want salt when they are hot and their BODY is thirsty. I have
seen our stallion go from pursing his lips tightly to plunging in to his eyes
after the salt was introduced. Might work for you - good luck!
