What a great weekend! The riders said that management took to heart
the bad trail markings last year, and did an incredible job. Their was
some vandalism on the 100. Someone that new the area took down a ton of
markers and remarked over the roughest side of the mountain. Luckily
John Crandall III was in the first group and him and the entire first 5
remarked, using everything from toilet paper to an orange bag for the
turns. They really saved the day. I hope I can name the first five
that all stopped and did this: John, Debi Gordon, Julie Bullock, UGH
Kevin help!
Kevin Baird finished 3rd, after running his sweet little wife into a
tree, fracturing her patella. Just kidding. Rumor has it that the vets
had to tell her something was wrong with her horse in order to get her
off to go to the hospital. What a women!
The awards ceremony was incredible. It is worth the price of
admission. Everyone finishing had to give a speech. It is truly
amazing how funny people can be with only a couple hours of sleep.
As Teddy and Truman posted, Betty Baird got her 10th OD finish. Only
the 7th person to receive a 1000 mile buckle.
Truman: hated you missed Carlos getting the OD trophy! It was great.
Everyone that can needs to come next year as it is the 25th year.
