So would any of the veterinarians out there like to add their opinion on
why/why not feed alfalfa to endurance horses?
I thought that I had read that feeding large amounts of alfalfa (since
it has high calcium levels) suppresses the function of the parathyroid
gland....yes? no? Wouldn't this mean not to feed it during training
also?
Can this be avoided by feeding a high phosphorus feed along with the
alfalfa and "balancing" the diet?
Just curious......
