Someone asked how to get to the OD base camp from I81. I can help you
out. You want to take I81 to I66. I66 begins at it's junction with
I81. Go east on I66 just a few miles to the Front Royal exit and take
522 south into Front Royal. You want to pass thru town on 522 which
means that you will have to take a left at a light (center of town)
onto 55 east (also 522) and then a right at a KFC to leave Front Royal
going south on 522. The turn off of 522 is just a short ways (1/2
mile?) and is to the right. Can't off hand remember the road
name/number but there is a sign on 522 for the 4-H Center which is
where the OD base camp is at. There is camping all over the 4-H Center
but just a word to the wise, The ride briefing/awards banquet is held
at the pavilion on up the hill where the restrooms are. On the other
hand the breakfast coffee and donuts are at the ride start at the
bottom of the hill. ....decisions....decisions

P.S. The vet check at McCoys Ford required a 4x4 last year to get in
and out of to be safe, plus had limited parking. Does anyone know if
they are using the same place this year????
