Melody: Your little incident sure could lead to preliminary stretch damage
that could have lead to further problems. Think about the mechanics. As
you decelerated (quickly) the horse's feet were stopped by the trailer mat,
friction and the front wall, while the upper body kept moving forward for a
short period, then it would rebound with a snap (ouch). During the
movement the front legs would take a position behind the vertical as the
body moved forward thus putting compression on the front of the leg and
tension on the back which could have damaged suspensory or tendons.

But you had no way of knowing so don't berate yourself...did you get the
license of the idiot that stopped in front of you....what a jerk...don't
you just hate having to wait for the after life to see someone pay their
dues....;)
