To add my own .02 to the discussion: hunter braids or a french braid
are both acceptable and look equally nice....but if you're going to "do"
dressage, it looks *much* nicer to also give your horse a short,
one-inch or so bridle path so that he doesn't scream "Arab alert! Arab
alert! Early '80s halter refugee!" <vbg> every time he enters the
arena. You want the judge to notice your horse's ground-covering gaits,
not his mile-long bridle path. :)
And, on another subject, anybody here know of any trail trials in the
Bay Area later this summer/fall, say in August, Sept., or Oct.? Please
e-mail me with any info. Thanks.
I'm new to this list, and am definitely an endurance wannabe. I enjoy
both dressage (first level) and long trail rides. Looking forward to
learning more from all of you about my favorite "spectator" sport.....
