What a bummer! However,I think you're going to be hitting your head against
the wall dealing with all those government entities! I do know some of the
people who work in the BLM office there in Bakersfield. If you want to
continue pursuing this, I'll certainly contact them, although I don't know
how much influence I'd have.

If you still want to put on a ride, contact me. I've got a few suggestions
for a locale.
