Let me relate a story about towing with a Jeep.

About 12 years ago I was working as a reporter on a weekly newspaper in
Central Texas. I heard a police call on my scanner about a wreck, so I
went out to take some pics and see if it was newsworthy. When I got there,
I saw an overturned Jeep (a Wrangler(?), not a Cherokee) that had been
towing a flatbed trailer with a small Bobcat loader on it. Apparently, it
whipsawed him off the road, the Jeep rolled and the driver was killed.

Too much trailer, not enough vehicle towing, and the location of the Bobcat
on the trailer may have also been a contributing factor.

Bigger is better.
