Gail< Our horses live in unrestricted 140 acres but when we are done riding
them and have unsaddled we some times have to inform them they are no longer
tied and can leave.
I have always made it a practice to NOT let the horse leave in a rush and on
their conditions. If it is made pleasant for them they will be calm and
unhurried to leave. I believe the attitude of the rider/handler has a lot to
do with it also. If the handler is not in a rush to go then the horse will
not be in a rush. My feeling is the horse reflects on the rider/handler!!
