There is nothing like a 100 miler to settle down your horse. I had done
6 or 8 50's with my mare and it was kind of like riding a just barely in
control bomb. The Tevis was our first 100, at the 50 mi check point she
thought she was all done, and a little suprised when we left the vet
check. Had a nice controlled second half, and a horse who "listened" on
those "short" rides thereafter.
